This disclaimer explains how ShaderGif content, tools, and information are provided, and what you should (and shouldn’t) rely on when using the site. It’s intended for visitors viewing the gallery, using the editor, reading documentation, or sharing projects with others.
General information only
ShaderGif is provided for creative and educational use. Any information on this site (including documentation, examples, comments, and community posts) is general in nature and should not be treated as professional advice (legal, financial, security, medical, or otherwise).
No warranties
ShaderGif is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we work to keep the site reliable and accurate, we do not guarantee that:
- the site will always be available, secure, or error-free,
- the editor will render identically across all devices and browsers,
- any shader, script, or asset will be compatible with your hardware, drivers, or environment,
- information on the site will always be complete, current, or free from mistakes.
Shader code and creative coding projects can be demanding on GPUs/CPUs. You are responsible for how you run code and for any impact on your device (performance, heat, battery usage, or crashes).
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShaderGif and its contributors will not be liable for losses or damages arising from your use of the site, including (but not limited to) indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, loss of profits, or device instability.
Creative work, user submissions, and responsibility
ShaderGif may include user-generated content such as GIFs, shader code, JavaScript snippets, textures, titles, descriptions, or comments. Views expressed in user submissions are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of ShaderGif.
If you share or publish work, you are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any code and assets you upload (including textures, images, audio, or third-party libraries), and that your content complies with applicable laws.
External links and third-party services
ShaderGif may link to third-party websites, tools, libraries, or resources for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, security, availability, or practices. Visiting third-party links is at your own discretion.
Open source and licensing notes
ShaderGif is built as a free/open source project, and parts of the platform may be distributed under an open source licence. Where specific licence terms apply (for example, in the project repository or within a project’s own files), those terms govern your use, modification, and redistribution of that code.
Browser and rendering differences
Real-time graphics output can vary by browser, GPU, drivers, and device capabilities. You may see different results depending on your setup, even when running the same shader and inputs. ShaderGif’s upstream documentation and project notes historically focused on Chromium-based browsers and Firefox for best compatibility.
Copyright and takedown requests
Respect creators. If you believe content on ShaderGif infringes your copyright or you want something removed, please contact us with enough detail to identify the material (page, title, and any supporting information). You can reach the team via the contact page.
Changes to this disclaimer
We may update this page as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised “Last updated” date.
